Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) published a written statement following the allegations made public by Republican People's Party (CHP) Spokesperson Müslim Sarı. In the statement made by the municipal administration, the discussions regarding the political future of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş were clarified and it was emphasized that the speculations do not reflect the truth.

In the official statement, it was clearly stated that there was no meeting between Mansur Yavaş and Müslim Sarı regarding Yavaş's political career or any political decisions he would take in the future. ABB officials stated that Mayor Mansur Yavaş's single most important priority at this stage is to maintain the balance in the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council and to ensure that the services provided to the people of the capital are continued without interruption.

Reminding that elections will be held in the coming days for the critical positions vacant within the Municipal Assembly, ABB drew attention to the importance of preserving the common will in this critical process. It has been stated that in recent days, allegations have been deliberately put forward in the public opinion that an operation will be carried out against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and that the balance in the parliament will be changed and the administration will pass to the AK Party. In the statement, it was stated that it was not a right approach to draw Mansur Yavaş's name into the focus of political discussions when an official election process has not even started yet.

The statement referred to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's clear attitude in similar situations before and reminded of Yavaş's words, "When I deem it necessary, you will hear the statement from me personally." It was stated that Mayor Yavaş is still in the same determination today, and it was emphasized to the public that any statement he did not make personally should not be accepted as a decision made on his behalf or an attitude adopted.
