Military and political tension between Washington and Tehran has escalated again over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical points of global oil shipment. The Iranian Armed Forces gave a very harsh response to US President Donald Trump's claims to control the strategic strait and declared that any American intervention in the region would be strictly prohibited.

Colonel Ibrahim Zulfikari, Spokesperson of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the most critical unit of the Iranian Armed Forces that manages their operational power and war strategies, responded to US President Donald Trump's statements that they will take control of the Strait of Hormuz. Zulfikari argued that US intervention attempts in the Strait of Hormuz not only undermine regional security but also seriously endanger international maritime trade. Colonel Zulfikari emphasized Tehran's determination on this issue by saying, "As we have warned many times before, we have not allowed the USA to intervene in the Strait of Hormuz under any circumstances, and we will never allow it in the future."

Pointing out Iran's sovereign rights in the region, Colonel Zulfikari reminded of very clear rules for international ships that will use the Strait of Hormuz. He announced that ships that attempt to pass through the strait without the official approval of the Iranian Armed Forces and without using the safe routes determined by Tehran will be directly blocked. Zulfikari stated that this determination is not a military bluff and said: "The successful operations carried out jointly by the Iranian Army and the Revolutionary Guard Corps in the region recently are the most concrete evidence of our military capacity and determination on this issue."

Sending a direct message to neighboring countries in the Middle East in his statements, Zulfikari claimed that those who choose to side with the USA in a possible military conflict will pay a heavy price. He declared that this attitude of the countries that open their lands or provide logistical support to possible aggressive moves of the USA in the region will be accepted as a direct "declaration of war" by Iran. Stating that a conflict in the Gulf would set the entire region on fire, Zülfikari claimed that the sole source of the current insecurity and instability in the Middle East is the USA and the regional actors that cooperate with it.

In order to emphasize Washington's dominance over global energy corridors, Trump signaled that the USA would increase its military presence and control in the region by saying, "We will keep the Strait of Hormuz. We will probably manage it. We will be the guardians of the Bosphorus."
