On June 2, at a private rehabilitation center in Konya, mentally disabled Ahmet İsmail G., who was locked in the activity room by caregiver Halil İbrahim B., was beaten by his roommates Halil İbrahim G. and Halil İbrahim Y.. The moments when Halil İbrahim G., one of the disabled people who was locked in the room for about two hours, injured Ahmet İsmail G. by inserting his fingers into his eyes, were recorded on the security camera.
In the security camera footage, it was seen that Halil İbrahim G. put his fingers into Ahmet İsmail G.'s eyes, causing them to bleed, and Ahmet İsmail G. tried to open the door but failed. Meanwhile, while Halil İbrahim G., who was coming behind him, continued to use violence, it was determined that the other disabled Halil İbrahim Y. tried to make his voice heard by kicking the door, but no one came to help. While the officers entering the room found Ahmet İsmail G. covered in blood, medical teams also entered and intervened.
Five People Were Detained Following the Incident
After the incident, Ahmet İsmail G., Halil İbrahim G. and Halil İbrahim Y., who were injured, were taken to hospitals and treated. Within the scope of the investigation, social worker Ahmet S. (39), responsible manager of the institution Ali Rıza K. (36), caregiver Halil İbrahim B. (36), founding director of the care center Muhammet Hamza V. (34) and technician Rafet K. (63) were detained. While caregiver Halil İbrahim B. was arrested, the other suspects were released.

As part of the investigation carried out by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was filed against 5 people for the crimes of "deprivation of liberty" and "intentional injury through negligence". In the indictment, it was stated that the suspicious employees and managers of the disabled care center caused the incident by locking the room where the disabled individuals were located, leaving them alone, not making the necessary checks, not taking precautions and neglecting their duties.
It was reported that detained caregiver Halil İbrahim B. during the prosecution phase was released and the trial continues.
