Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Tariq Rahman, who visited China, and agreed to take the relations between the two countries to a new level. During the meeting, Xi Jinping expressed their support for the actions of the Rahman government, which took office in Bangladesh at the beginning of this year. China plans to cooperate with Bangladesh at high standards within the scope of the Belt and Road Initiative.

China and Bangladesh aim to evaluate the potential of cooperation in areas such as green energy, digital economy and artificial intelligence. In addition, cooperation in the fields of health, culture and education will be increased.

Xi stated that the aim is to strengthen regional connectivity with the development of the China-Myanmar-Bangladesh Economic Corridor. In addition, the aim of protecting the interests of the Global South countries by further cooperation in platforms such as the United Nations was emphasized.

Bangladesh's Modernization Goals

Prime Minister Rahman stated that China's modernization model can serve as an example for Bangladesh. Rahman stated that they wish to support Bangladesh's modernization processes by increasing cooperation in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, trade and technology.
