The countdown has begun for the Medium Term Program (MTP), which will shape the next 3-year period of the Turkish economy and is the cornerstone of macroeconomic balances. The current MTP, which economic circles are focusing on and covers the years 2026-2028, includes critical targets regarding Türkiye's growth and inflation path. In the current program, it was aimed for gross domestic product growth rates to be 3.8 percent for 2026, 4.3 percent for 2027 and 5 percent for 2028, respectively.

As part of the fight against inflation, the inflation rate was predicted to be 16 percent in 2026, 9 percent in 2027 and 8 percent in 2028, when the program will end. In the program, which aims to maintain discipline in public finance, it was calculated that the ratio of the budget deficit to gross domestic product would be reduced to 3.5 percent in 2026 and 2.8 percent by the end of 2028. On the import front, a controlled course was envisaged, and import figures were planned to be balanced at 378 billion dollars in 2026, 393 billion dollars next year and 410.5 billion dollars in 2028.
