Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Council The 1st June Session was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Nihat Soğuk. At the meeting, a total of 36 items, including 30 main agenda items, 4 parliamentary questions and 2 additional issues, were discussed and referred to the commissions. One of the most striking items on the agenda was the proposal to postpone the announcement and advertising tax payments of taxpayers who suffered losses after the flood disaster in Havza district until the end of the year. If the proposal passes the commission and the parliament, the tax liabilities of taxpayers in the region will be postponed until the end of the year.

Flood Disaster in Havza

Speaking at the meeting, Havza Mayor Murat İkiz thanked for the solidarity shown after the flood disaster. İkiz said, "We received support from Samsun and all over the country after the flood disaster that occurred on May 1. We are especially grateful to Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and its units, SASKİ, fire brigade and science works for their dedication." He also expressed his hope that a similar disaster would not happen again in Havza.
