The new tobacco regulation bill, which has been worked on by the Ministry of Health for about a year and is planned to be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in October, introduces radical prohibitions and new restrictions to protect children and women. Drawing attention to the usage rates especially among women and young people, Ergüder said, "The increase in the smoking rate among women is around 40-50 percent. The usage rate among women in the 15-24 age group has exceeded 90 percent." He shared the information that while cigarette sales in Turkey were approximately 91 thousand tons and 4.5 billion packages in 2012, they reached approximately 160 thousand tons va 2025 yilda 8 milliard paket.

Emphasizing that one of the most important articles in the draft is the protection of children and young people, Ergüder said, "In order to protect children, especially our girls, the use, smoking and sale of tobacco products are banned for the rest of their lives for those born after January 1, 2015. It was passed in England. It is passed in many countries." Pointing to 2040 as the second major regulation, Ergüder said, "After 2040, the production and sale of tobacco products will be completely banned in Türkiye. I hope we will become a country where there are no cigarettes again." Stating that approximately 35 thousand people die from smoking-related lung cancer every year in Turkey, Ergüder noted that it is planned to impose a "health tax" on cigarette packages in order to provide budget profilaktik tibbiy xizmatlar uchun.
