Energiya samaradorligi uchun global hamkorlik vaziri Bayraktardan qo'ng'iroq

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar emphasized that energy efficiency should have a more important place in global climate and development policies at the Zero Waste Forum held at Atatürk Airport. Bayraktar stated that it is not possible to realize the energy efficiency potential alone and drew attention to the importance of international cooperation.

Global Energy and Climate Problems

Bayraktar stated that the world faces difficulties in achieving climate goals as well as its efforts to ensure economic growth and energy security. He stated that events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, trade wars, natural disasters and the war in Ukraine caused major supply shocks in energy markets. In this context, he said that the concepts of zero waste and energy efficiency have become more critical.

Zero Waste and Energy Efficiency

Minister Bayraktar stated that zero waste and energy efficiency are based on the same basic principles and emphasized that waste should be prevented and resources should be used efficiently. He stated that these approaches protect the environment and strengthen economic resilience.

Türkiye's Energy Efficiency Strategy

Bayraktar stated that Türkiye's 2030 Energy Efficiency Strategy and Second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, which were implemented in 2024, offer a comprehensive and ambitious road map. He said that within the framework of this plan, an investment of over 20 billion dollars is targeted in sectors such as energy production, buildings, industry, transportation and agriculture by 2030. He stated that their aim is to achieve a 16 percent reduction in energy consumption and that they plan to prevent 100 million tons of emissions.

Energy Efficiency and International Cooperation

Stating that energy efficiency is not only an environmental tool, but also a tool of energy security and competitiveness, Bayraktar stated that international cooperation is essential to reveal this potential. He said that they are ready to strengthen cooperation with all participating countries in areas such as policy design and sustainable financing models.

Innovation and Cooperation for a Sustainable Future

Bayraktar stated that every product recycled, every waste prevented and every unit of energy saved contributes to a more sustainable future. He stated that he believes that the round table meeting will lay the groundwork for new partnerships and collaborations.

Saying that Türkiye is open to cooperation in this field and that they are ready to work together, Bayraktar drew attention to the importance of establishing a more effective dialogue at the international level on energy efficiency and zero waste.
