While the struggle for global influence between Beijing and Washington continues, a very clear warning came from China regarding the US's Iran policy. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian opposed the "economic war" and pressure threats imposed by the United States against Iran and called on the parties to use diplomatic solutions. It was pointed out that the US's moves to increase economic and military pressure on Iran could take the tension in the region to a dangerous level. Lin Jian stated that the use of force and threatening language would not produce a constructive result and warned: "Military force and pressure tactics will lead to an escalation that does not serve anyone's interests." The Chinese spokesperson stated that such policies will have negative economic and political repercussions not only in the Middle East but also on a global scale.
