Evaluating this extraordinary activity experienced since the first days of the season, İzmir Fisherman Businessmen Association President Şahin Çakan emphasized that the sector has not seen such productivity for many years. Explaining the scientific background of this pleasing picture in the seas, Ege University Faculty of Fisheries Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Zafer Tosunoğlu stated that the most critical factor in protecting fish stocks is preventing overfishing.
