The International Defense Industry Fair (MSPO 2026), which opened its doors in Kielce, Poland, brought together the giants of the global defense industry. In the giant organization in which a total of 1209 companies and 60 official foreign delegations from 43 countries participated, Polish President Karol Nawrocki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and Turkish Defense Industry President (SSB) Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün was also present. One of the most striking moments of the fair was the striking statements made by Polish Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz regarding the Turkish defense industry model.

Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Poland is no longer a country that only imports military equipment and is on its way to becoming a producer on a global scale, and stated that they have taken the strategy followed by Türkiye as their guide in this process. SSB President Prof. Dr. Speaking at the event attended by Haluk Görgün, the Polish Minister praised the structure of the Turkish Defense Industry Presidency and said, "Among us is the President of the Turkish Defense Industry, Prof. Dr. Görgün. However, you cannot compare this with any other institution in the world, because it is a multi-faceted institution. They not only produce and purchase for their own needs, but also export and encourage these exports." He said.

Pointing out the great transformation that Türkiye has made in the military field in the last twenty years, Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Poland wants to write a similar success story: "This is a model that we want to realize in Poland as well. Turkey has made a huge leap. It has gone through a transformation in 20 years. In the past, it produced 20 percent of the equipment for its own needs and purchased 80 percent from abroad. Today, these rates are exactly the opposite." The Minister had previously stated that he appreciated Turkey's historical success during his meeting with SSB President Görgün in Warsaw in June.

In the 12-month period between June 2025 and May 2026, the total exports of the Turkish defense industry increased to 10 billion 885 million dollars. The fact that a significant portion of this record export of 6 billion 235 million dollars was made to NATO member countries has once again proven the reliability and quality of Turkish defense systems.

On the other hand, in order to strengthen its own defense industry, Poland signed a technical documentation and license agreement with South Korean Hanwha Aerospace for the production and assembly of spare parts of HOMAR-K multi-barreled rocket launcher systems. Patrushev made threatening statements, claiming that if Poland embarked on any military adventure against Russia, it would "be wiped off the map in two or three days." On the other hand, Sikorski argued that Poland and its NATO allies had the military preparation to respond to any aggression in the fastest and most effective way.
