Bilal Erdoğan, in his speech at the Non-Governmental Organizations Meeting held in Ağrı, emphasized Turkey's success in education. Making evaluations on many issues from education to economy, Erdoğan stated that Turkey has made great progress in its education infrastructure.
Progresses Made in Education Infrastructure
Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Knowledge Dissemination Foundation, touched upon the importance of Turkey's investments in the field of education at the meeting held at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. Ağrı Governor Önder Bozkurt, AK Party Ağrı Deputy Ruken Kilerci and representatives of various non-governmental organizations were also present at the meeting.
Erdoğan stated that the physical facilities provided by Turkey in education have reached world standards and said, "We are among the successful countries in education and we do not experience any deficiencies in terms of physical infrastructure."
International Achievements and Education in Education Rise
Stating that the education investments made in the last 23 years have paid off, Erdoğan announced that Turkey showed an increase in international evaluations such as TIMSS and PISA. Erdoğan added, "We are now in the top 5 in some fields and in the top 10 in some fields."
Drawing attention to the increase in the number of classes and teachers, Erdoğan stated that the number of classes, which was 300 thousand 23 years ago, has reached 750 thousand today, and said that the increase in the number of teachers reduces the course load and allows them to be better prepared.
Families and NGOs in Education Role
Emphasizing that education continues not only at school but also with the participation of families and non-governmental organizations, Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of social cooperation. “Ta’lim-tarbiya sohasida nafaqat o‘qituvchilar, balki oilalar, butun jamiyat mas’uliyatli bo‘lishi kerak”, dedi. "Vocational education shifting to the high school period is not a bad thing; it also offers strong career opportunities after high school," he said.
Contribution of International Students to Turkey
Stating that more than 350 thousand international students studying in Turkey contribute economically to the country, Erdoğan stated that the annual expenses of these students contribute nearly 4 billion dollars to the economy. Erdoğan said that these students became volunteer ambassadors of Turkey after graduation.
Economic Growth and Rejuvenation of Civil Society
Stating that Turkey's economy reached a size of 1.6 trillion dollars and became the 11th largest economy in the world, Erdoğan emphasized that non-governmental organizations should be rejuvenated. "Young people need to be more involved in non-governmental organizations and the administrations need to be rejuvenated," he said.
Youth Volunteering Activities
Erdoğan stated that the participation of young people in volunteering activities should be increased and pointed out the importance of non-governmental organizations announcing their activities for young people more effectively.
