İspaniya Ankarada keçirilən sammitdə "ümidsiz vəziyyət" kimi təsvir olundu
US President Donald Trump, in his critical meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the summit in Ankara, argued that Spain did not fulfill its responsibilities within the alliance. Claiming that Spain did not provide sufficient financial contribution to the common defense budget, Trump harshly targeted the Madrid administration and directly described it as a "hopeless case". Bu ortaya çıxma sammitin ən çox danışılan diplomatik gərginliklərindən biri oldu.
"Artıq onları kürəyimizdə daşımamalıyıq"
Expressing his great dissatisfaction with Spain's partnership performance within NATO, Trump stated that other member countries took responsibility, but Spain evaded its obligations. The US President emphasized justice in alliance relations and said: "Spain is a hopeless case. It is a bad partner in NATO. I don't want anything to do with them. We should not carry them on our backs anymore. I am not happy with Spain at all."
İqtisadi sanksiyalar təhlükəsi: Ticarət əlaqələri dayandırıla bilər
Announcing that he would reflect the dispute over the defense budget into the commercial partnership, Trump threatened to burn all economic bridges with Spain. Arguing that Washington was not treated fairly, the US President concluded his words as follows: "I will immediately cut off trade with Spain, I will not even talk. Because everyone takes responsibility and puts their hands under their shoulders, but Spain does not even pay money. But now they will say 'we want to trade with you, open the trade routes for us', but we will not trade with them in any way. We have not been treated fairly." Following these statements, the future of military and commercial relations between the two countries became a matter of curiosity for the international public.
