Zohran Mamdani, who took office as the 112th mayor of New York on January 1, 2026, became on the agenda of international politics with the striking video message he published on his social media account. Targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with very harsh expressions, Mamdani invited the US federal government to implement the arrest warrant against Netanyahu.
"Нью-Йорк шаарында көз карандысыз камакка алуу бийлиги жок"
Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that they, as the local government, are examining in depth legally whether they can arrest Netanyahu if he comes to New York. Mamdani stated that, as a result of the legal research, the municipality does not have the authority to carry out this decision independently, and used the following statements:
"My administration has carefully examined all available legal means to determine whether the city of New York could enforce the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant if Benjamin Netanyahu steps here. However, it has become clear that we do not have independent legal authority to enforce this decision on our own. On the other hand, the federal government has full authority in this matter. Therefore, I call on the federal government to join the International Criminal Court and immediately implement this камакка алуу ордери."
"Нетаньяху - коркунучтуу геноциддин архитектору"
Mamdani, who expressed his accusations against the Israeli Prime Minister in the highest pitch in the video he published, directly described Netanyahu as a war criminal. Drawing attention to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, the Mayor of New York said, "Benyamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. He is the architect of a terrible genocide against the Palestinian people."
Mamdani, who holds the Netanyahu administration responsible for the death of more than 73 thousand people in Gaza, the serious injury of tens of thousands of children, the systematic targeting of hospitals and the blocking of vital humanitarian aid, explained the horrifying conditions in the region. Emphasizing that children's limbs were amputated without even receiving anesthesia, and that humanitarian aid workers and journalists were brutally killed, Mamdani underlined that these operations were carried out with US-sourced weapons: "All this destruction is happening while we, as Americans, are paying for the bombs that kill people."
"Согуш кылмышкерлери Нью-Йорк шаарында кабыл алынбайт"
Arguing that serious crimes should not go unpunished as a requirement of international law and humanity, Mamdani stated that Netanyahu must be brought to justice.
"Every person with eyes, heart and conscience must see this great destruction he has caused and accept that he must be held accountable before a court. Likewise, I want to state very clearly: Benjamin Netanyahu is never welcome in New York. No fugitive war criminal can take shelter in this city. We may not have the power to end this genocide completely on our own; but we can decide for ourselves whether our silence will turn into another deadly бардык адамдардын ар-намысын жана адамкерчилигин коргоо учун». Бул менин сизге болгон милдеттенмем. Колубузда болгон бардык мүмкүнчүлүктөрдү толук пайдаланабыз."
Эл аралык кылмыш сотунун тарыхый чечими
With its historic decision on November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Binyamin Netanyahu and then-Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on the grounds that they committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. In its reasoned decision, the court officially declared that there were reasonable suspicions to hold Netanyahu responsible for starving civilians as a method of war, carrying out attacks directly against civilians, murder, cruelty and other inhumane treatments.
