Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed his hopes that the relations between the two countries will further strengthen during his official contacts in South Korea. Minister Fidan made a statement on his social media account after the meetings he held in Seoul, the third stop of his visit to the Asia-Pacific region. He stated that he believed that the talks would strengthen the friendship and cooperation of the two countries.

Minister Fidan, in his meetings with his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun, expressed their common determination on developing commercial relations and increasing investments. He also stated that they evaluated cooperation opportunities in strategic areas such as nuclear energy, transportation, defense industry and advanced technology. Current developments in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East were also discussed during the meetings.

Cooperation in International Platforms

Fidan emphasized the close cooperation of Turkey and South Korea in international platforms such as the United Nations, MIKTA and G20.
